April Lodge was established in East Kent in 2004 in response to the growing problem of guinea pig neglect.

Covering an area of over 70 square miles we provide help for guinea pigs in need, whether they are sick, old, pregnant, abused, neglected or simply no longer wanted for whatever reason.

While they are with us we ensure they are given a well balanced diet, daytime grass exercise runs (with nest boxes for a nap), a clean, cosy, sheltered hutch for night time, regular health checks including bathing, grooming, nail clipping and lots of tender loving care.

We are fortunate to have a small army of volunteer helpers and are confident that what we offer is a vital service, often distressing but equally rewarding.
